An electrophoresis display device and a driving method thereof are provided to lower a data voltage by enhancing an effective voltage, which is determined by difference between a data voltage and a common voltage. An electrophoresis display device includes an electrophoresis display panel(14), data and gate drivers(12,13), a common voltage generating circuit(15), and a timing controller(11). The electrophoresis display panel includes plural data and gate lines that cross each other, and cells driven by voltages, which are applied to pixel and common electrodes. The data driver converts digital data into data voltages and supplies the data voltages to the data lines. The gate driver supplies scan pulses to the gate lines. The common voltage generating circuit supplies AC(Alternating Current) common voltages, inverted polarity thereof during a frame period among plural frame periods, to the common electrodes. The timing controller controls operation timing of the data driver, the gate driver, and the common voltage generating circuit, and supplies the digital data to the data driver.
