<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an excellent charge/discharge cycle with high stability and high capacity, even in case a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery is used with a high charging voltage of ≥4.25 V. <P>SOLUTION: On at least a part of a surface of a complex oxide particle with an average composition expressed in a chemical formula 1: Li<SB>(1+x)</SB>Co<SB>(1-y)</SB>MyO<SB>(2-z)</SB>, a coating layer containing a metal oxide mainly composed of an oxide of Nickel (Ni) containing lithium (Li), manganese (Mn) and cobalt (Co) with molybdenum ion without crystal phases, is provided. In addition, binding energy of 3d5/2 by XPS (X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy) of a molybdenum ion contained in the coating layer is structured to be ≤232.4 eV. Such a coating layer is formed by coating mixed powder made by pulverizing a metal compound mainly composed of Li, Ni, Mn and Mo on the surface of complex oxide particles, and calcining it. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
