<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for monitoring the monitoring range by using at least one camera, wherein a controller is composed so as to detect a shadow of the minimum range of a bright color partial stripe and/or a dark color partial stripe as a shadow obtained when an object target intrudes into a monitoring range. <P>SOLUTION: The controller is configured so as to detect a shadow existing in a frame perpendicular to a contrast stripe 12 within an image of a camera 4, that is, a shadow which falls below the least number of bright color pixels between the start point Y2 of the bright color and the end point Y3 of the bright color of a bright color partial stripe existing in the frame and/or the second least number of dark color pixels between the start point Y1 of a dark color and the end point Y2 of the dark color of a dark color partial stripe 14 existing in the frame as a shadow obtained by damaging a mark of the contrast strip 12 and with a shadow of the smallest range as a shadow of the specified number of adjacent frames. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
