<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolyte for proton conductive membrane for fuel cell, whereon any ion exchange group removal reaction is not caused by electrophilic substitution reaction associated with proton attack during using the proton conductive membrane. <P>SOLUTION: A chemically modified fullerene for electrolyte for proton conductive membrane is provided being such that a sulfonate group SO<SB>3</SB>M and/or a phosphonate group PO(OM)<SB>2</SB>(wherein M is H or an alkali metal ion) is bound directly and substantially no organic compound is bound thereto. A method for producing the chemically modified fullerene uses a specific reaction solvent of (dimethylacetamide + water) when a sulfonation reagent K<SB>2</SB>SO<SB>3</SB>is used or dioxane when a phosphonation reagent LiPO(OEt)<SB>2</SB>is used. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
