PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably operate a paper sheet transaction device without stopping the operation of the paper sheet transaction device by easily taking measures related to a false ticket or a true ticket having a risk of false identification. SOLUTION: This paper sheet transaction system has: an identification part 112 acquiring information about a transacted paper sheet, deciding whether a peculiar characteristic of the paper sheet is present within a prescribed range or not, and deciding genuineness and the certainty of the genuineness of the paper sheet; a storage means storing specific information related to the paper sheet suspected that it is decided as the false ticket; and a management part generating the specific information stored in the storage means and performing the update processing of the specific information. When it is decided that the paper sheet is the true ticket or suspected of the false ticket as the result of the decision in the identification part 112, a pattern of the paper sheet of a transaction target is collated with a pattern of the paper sheet of the related specific information in reference to the storage means, and the management part stores the pattern of the paper sheet of the transaction target in the storage means as the specific information according to its result.
