<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain electric power in a communication device comprising a plurality of antennas and communicating with IC tags attached to paper. <P>SOLUTION: The position of the paper 14 is detected by a position sensor 60, and based on this, the position of the IC tag 48 on the paper is obtained. The antenna 58 corresponding to the position of the IC tag 48 is selected by a selecting part 66 out of four antennas and connected to a reader-writer 64.
