PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outdoor unit for an air conditioner with superior energy saving, noise reduction, miniaturization, cost reduction, and construction saving characteristics or the like. SOLUTION: Plural propeller fans 100 for sucking in external air from a portion of a heat exchanger 200 arranged from a casing side face 301 to a back face 304, and blowing out air heat-exchanged by the heat exchanger toward a casing upward direction, are arranged on a casing upper part, and refrigerating cycle apparatuses such as a compressor 103 are installed on a casing bottom plate 303. The heat exchanger has a substantially U-shaped horizontal cross section to surround each of the plural propeller fans, and it is plurally arranged long the casing back face.
