<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display with increased capacity of an auxiliary capacitance electrode with less bright spot defects and without decreasing an aperture ratio of each pixel, and a manufacturing method therefor. <P>SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display panel 10A, a gate electrode G of a TFT, a scanning line 16 and an auxiliary capacitance electrode 18a are coated with a first insulating film 27, consisting of a thick insulating film 25 and a thinned insulating film part 26. Part of the auxiliary capacitance electrode 18a is coated only with the thinned insulating film part 26, and a drain electrode D extends so as to coat the thinned insulating film part 26 via the section of the first insulating film 27 that is not thinned. On a second insulating film 28 disposed between a pixel electrode 20 and the drain electrode D, a contact hole 30 is made in the section on the drain electrode D on the first insulating film 27, that is not thinned on the auxiliary capacitance electrode 18a, and the pixel electrode 20 and the drain electrode D are electrically connected to each other via the contact hole 30. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
