PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blade drive device for a digital camera where a plate member such as a cover plate is surely mounted on a mount shaft provided on a main plate made of synthetic resin by thermally melting a part of the mount shaft, and which is suitable for miniaturization. SOLUTION: A blade chamber for a shutter blade 3 is constituted between the main plate 1 made of the synthetic resin and the cover plate 2 made of metal. The mount shaft 1c erected by integral molding on the main plate 1 has columnar shape when the main plate 1 is manufactured. The cover plate 2 has a circular hole 2c, and a recessed part 2c-1 is radially successively provided from the hole 2c on the surface outside the blade chamber. The cover plate 2 is mounted on the mount shaft 1c by fitting the mount shaft 1c in the hole 2c, thermally melting the penetrating tip part of the mount shaft 1c and deforming it to be a flange part, and also making the melted material flow in the recessed part 2c-1.
