A socket for grounding a backlight lamp is provided to insert the backlight lamp into the chassis directly for grounding at low cost and with simple process by making the chassis and the back light lamp socket in a single body. A socket for grounding a backlight lamp is used in a flat panel display device, and fixes and grounds at least one back light lamp(100). A frame(10) forms a bottom chassis. Two elasticity parts(11) are extended in the upper direction by bending the part of the frame, and are extended in the direction in which the elasticity parts face each other. A contact part(12) keeps and maintains the backlight lamp terminal(101) by forming a small space for having a slow bent in the facing direction from the two elasticity parts respectively. A leading part(13) is formed over in the mutually receding direction from each contact part, and leads the reception of the backlight lamp terminal. An over-deformation prevention support part(14) is extended in the upper direction at the side of the two mutually facing elasticity parts. An over-deformation prevention part(15) is extended to face with the leading part side from the over-deformation prevention support part so as to prevent the leading part from being over-deformed.
