<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separator material for a fuel cell high in strength, especially at a high temperature of around 80-100°C, and excellent in material characteristics such as electric resistance, gas impermeability, and braking strain; and to provide a manufacturing method of the separator material. <P>SOLUTION: The separator material for a polymer electrolyte fuel cell is composed of a carbon/resin curing molding formed by binding carbon powder with a mixture resin of a 2-functional fatty alcohol ether type epoxy resin and a polyfunctional phenol type epoxy resin, a phenol resin curing agent, a silane compound having polysiloxane structure, and a binder containing a curing accelerator as an essential ingredient. A first manufacturing method of the separator material is configured so that a resin solution obtained by dissolving these binder material components in an organic solvent and the carbon powder are kneaded, the kneaded material is crushed to obtain molding powder, the molding powder is filled in a preformimg die, and pressed to obtain a preform, and the preform is put in a molding die and heat-pressed. A second manufacturing method is configured so that slurry obtained by dispersing carbon powder in the resin solution is applied to a film, a green sheet is generated by separating from the film, and the green sheets are laminated in the molding die, and heat-pressed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
