PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve the communication of a communications device supporting first and second protocols and a communications device supporting the first protocol for returning a first response to a second connection request command. SOLUTION: The communications device 1a is a primary station which communicates with a secondary station. The communications device includes: a communications protocol analyzing section 160a for receiving both a first response to a first-connection-routine command and a second response to a second-connection-routine command distinguishable from the first response, analyzing an incoming response and judging whether the response is the first response or the second response; and a protocol control section 110 for connecting to the secondary station using the first protocol if the communications protocol analyzing section 160a determines that the response is the first response and using the second protocol if it determines that the response is the second response.
