PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retrieval system for easily realizing a function capable of retrieving information on a specific area of expertise. SOLUTION: The retrieval execution device is provided with: a specified dictionary registering means for acquiring specialized knowledge data and registering the specialized knowledge data in a specialized knowledge dictionary in each field; a main index creation means for using a common dictionary to create a main index; a sub-index creation means for using the common dictionary and the specified dictionary to create a sub-index in each field; and a retrieval means for acquiring information for specifying a retrieval query and a field of specialized knowledge and using the sub-index and the main index to execute retrieval. A retrieval instruction device is provided with: a specialized knowledge data storing means; a registration instructing means for transmitting specialized knowledge data and information for retrieval to the retrieval execution device; and a retrieval instruction means for transmitting information for specifying a retrieval query and a field of specialized knowledge to the retrieval execution device, receiving a retrieval result from the retrieval execution device and transmitting the retrieval result to a user terminal.
