PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microcomputer capable of detecting any stack overflow. SOLUTION: A CPU core 1 outputs a stack access signal showing occurrence of access to a stack area. An access address storing register 2 stores a boundary value of the stack area. A stack address comparison part 3 compares, upon output of the stack access signal from the CPU core 1, the value of an address output from the CPU core 1 with the boundary value stored in the access address storing register 2 to determine occurrence of access exceeding the stack area.
