摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of driving an electrophoresis display device that is less apt to form a residual image, and to provide the electrophoresis display device. SOLUTION: The electrophoresis display device can separate ions collected around charged particles from the charged particles and dissolve an electric double-layer generated around the charged particles, by the pulse voltage of a prescribed frequency, since the pulse voltage is applied between a pixel electrode and a common electrode over the entire display part at the prescribed frequency, prior to erasing of voltage-erasing display images is applied across the pixel electrode and the common electrode, when modified images are displayed on the display part. The electrophoresis display device can dissolve the stable state in the sense of the Coulomb force and enhance the electrophoretic speed of the charged particles. Thereby the electrophoresis display device can avoid blunting of movement of the charged particles and can suppress the remaining images from being formed on the display part.
