PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical cable in which a rough winding string causes less heaping and tangling on a spacer and can be easily removed together with a wrapping tape, in the occurrence of cutting of the rough winding string that prevents a coated optical fiber from falling off from the groove of the spacer. SOLUTION: In the optical cable, a coated optical fiber 4 is housed in the groove (a) of a grooved spacer 2, with the rough winding strings 8a, 8b, 8c, 8d, the wrapping tape 6, and a cable jacket 7 applied in this order to the outer periphery of the spacer 2, wherein the rough winding strings are made to fixedly adhere to the wrapping tape.
