A device and a method for providing a user interface for transferring a file are provided to prevent incorrect operation owing to touch dragging and enable a user to transfer more than one file to more than one receiver in an easy/convenient mode by providing an intuitive screen configuration. An operation recognizing module(101) receives an input operation, which includes touching, dragging, and scrolling an object on a touch screen, from a user interface and checks a position of the input operation. An operation executing module(102) executes the operation corresponding to the recognized input operation and the checked position of the input operation. A communication module(104) transfers a file to a receiver according to the recognized input operation and the checked position of the input operation. The user interface includes a file list section selecting the file to be transferred and moving the selected file, a receiver section selecting the receiver receiving the selected file and moving the selected file, and an execution section moving the selected file and receiver, and transferring the selected file to the selected receiver. |
