A master cylinder for a vehicle is provided to prevent friction between a return spring and a cylinder body caused by elastic deformation of the return spring by forming the return spring with an extension spring having elasticity. A master cylinder for a vehicle comprises a cylinder body(50), a piston rod(60), and an extension spring(70). The cylinder body has a hydraulic pressure inlet(50A) where hydraulic pressure passes through. The piston rod is pulled in and out from the cylinder body and connected with a clutch pedal, and drives the cylinder body into a first chamber(52), and a second chamber(54). The first chamber has hydraulic pressure inside. The second chamber has no hydraulic pressure inside. The extension spring is installed at the second chamber of the cylinder body.
