A data output device and a data output method are provided to provide the information about a reward and the figure of a game proceeding medium that should be consumed for the reward. A data output device includes an output device, a memory, a receiver(314) and a controller. The output device outputs image and/or sound. The memory stores plural types of output data to output image and/or sound. The receiver receives start information that includes designation information to designate the output data from a slot machine. The controller is a data output device that is programmed to perform the process of receiving the start signal through the receiver from the slot machine and the process of extracting the output data from the memory and letting the output device output the image and/or sound.
