Therapeutic combinations and pharmaceutical compositions are provided com prising ambrisentan and an inhibitor of renin activity or release. Such comb inations and compositions are useful to treat hypertensive disorders, partic ularly pulmonary hypertension conditions such as pulmonary arterial hyperten sion, to prevent cardiovascular adverse events related thereto, to enhance p ulmonary function and to extend time to clinical worsening in a subject havi ng a pulmonary hypertension condition.
