PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stable method for producing a CNF (carbon nanofiber) aggregate suppressing a mixture of impurities such as graphite particles and catalyst metal, stably growing up to a height equal to or more than 10 mm from a substrate, with excellent reproducibility, and having a bulk density equal to or more than 0.08 g/cm<SP>3</SP>. SOLUTION: The method for producing a carbon nanofiber aggregate includes (1) the process of forming a carbon nanofiber film on the substrate, (2) the process of making the carbon nanofiber to support a catalyst, and (3) the process of feeding raw material gas containing hydrocarbon and hydrogen, and a raw material of the catalyst at the same time.
