PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high performance motor which can be operated at a speed other than high-speed operation and low-speed operation, in a motor with two-magnetic poles in particular. SOLUTION: An armature 3 is provided with a commutator, provided to a rotary shaft and having a plurality of segments arranged in the circumferential direction. The motor 1 includes a first positive brush 22a in slide contact with the commutator, a first negative brush 22b disposed at a point-symmetric position around the rotary shaft with respect to the first positive brush 22a, a second positive brush 23a disposed shifted by a predetermined angle from the first positive brush 22a, a second negative brush 23b disposed at a point-symmetric position around the rotary shaft with respect to the second positive brush 23a, and a speed switching means 26 for switching the rotating speed of the rotary shaft by switching the power supply to the brushes 22a, 22b, 23a, 23b.
