PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle periphery monitoring apparatus capable of suppressing the display of unsuitable vehicle periphery monitoring images and capable of displaying a vehicle periphery monitoring image corresponding to variation in the posture of a camera which may be previously supposed according to the movement of a movable part. SOLUTION: When a variation in the postures of cameras 3, 4, 5 installed on movable portions is previously supposed even if the movement of the movable portion is detected, vehicle periphery monitoring images 9, 10 generated by using a mapping table 20 corrected by using correction information corresponding to the moved quantity of the movable portions are displayed, and when variation in the posture of a camera 2 installed on a position other than the movable portions is detected or when variations in the postures of the cameras 3, 4, 5 installed on the movable portions are not previously supposed, the display of the vehicle periphery monitoring images 9, 10 is stopped or limited.
