Cuff seal between automotive bulkhead and steering wheel column has two axially transposed external ring grooves

An automobile has a bulkhead between the engine and passenger area with a hole for the steering wheel column. The gap between the steering wheel column and bulkhead is closed an elastic cuff seal (1). The seal has an external ring groove (2) for a ring-shaped installation fitting (4), and an axially transposed second ring groove (3) for a rubber ring seal (5). In the installed condition the second ring (3) sidewall (7) and ring seal (5) are in contact with the bulkhead aperture (6).
