The production method for tubes, especially for heat exchangers, from an endless strip material on a roll train, in which separating of individual tubes is carried out at predetermined positions, entails carrying out a forming process (S) which is located before the separating operation at the predetermined positions of the joined tube, which makes the tube ends conical. A step of perforating the tube sections is carried out at the predetermined positions before the forming process and the joining into the tube. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a roll train for carrying out the method for production of tubes; (2) a flat tube for heat exchangers, with an at least partially conical form at the two ends; and (3) a heat exchanger which has flat tubes which are produced by the proposed method.
