A paper sheet stacking device and a paper sheet handling device are provided to enable the stacking device to contain various kinds of paper sheets by using various receiving portions. A paper sheet stacking device includes an insertion/ejection unit(702), plural containers(700a,700b), a stacking/ejection unit, and an internal transfer path(705). The insertion/ejection unit ejects paper sheets to outside. The containers receive the paper sheets therein. The stacking/ejection unit are implemented on respective containers and stack and eject the paper sheets in and from the containers. The internal transfer path bidirectionally transfers paper sheets between the insertion/ejection unit and the stacking/ejection units.
