FICUS THUNBERGII VARIANT AND ITS UTILIZATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide Ficus thunbergii excellent in nitrogen oxide absorbing ability.

SOLUTION: The Ficus thunbergii variant is obtained by a production method including (i) the step of irradiating an explant of Ficus thunbergii which is a mother stock with ion beam, (ii) the step of obtaining a plant body by culturing the explant irradiated with ion beams and (iii) the step of selecting Ficus thunbergii mutant having higher nitrogen oxide absorbing ability than that of the mother stock from the plant body. Ficus thunbergii mutant excellent in ability to absorb a nitrogen oxide such as nitrogen dioxide and suitable for wall surface greening of rooftop, wall, etc., can be provided thereby.
