PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material substituting starch sizing agent and PVA conventionally used in sizing, and having no conventional sizing problems (necessity for removal of sizing agent, mold generation caused by remaining sizing agent), to provide a method for processing fiber, using the material, to provide fiber treated by the method, and to provide fiber products woven by using the fiber. SOLUTION: The method for processing fiber includes soaking the fiber in an acid solution of chitosan and neutralizing the resultant with an alkali solution of pectin or an alkali extraction liquid of a pectic substance.
