PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transparent film which has high barrier properties for oxygen gas, steam, or the like, excellent transparency, and excellent suitability for aftertreatment processing such as printing, lamination, and bag-making processes, and is useful as a packaging material for various articles such as food and drink, medicines, cosmetics, chemical products, electronic parts and others. SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing aluminum oxide vapor-deposited film, an aluminum oxide vapor-deposited coating is formed on a plastic film.
