摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for producing titanium tetrachloride which prevents the blocking due to the flocculation of ferrous chloride in transportation piping and the change of the production rate without reducing production efficiency. SOLUTION: Generated gas is sent from a reactor 10 to produce titanium tetrachloride by fluidized layer reaction via the transportation piping 20 to a condenser. A cooling means 31 is a spray device to spray liquid titanium tetrachloride in the transportation piping and forces high temperature generated gas to cool to lower temperature than the flocculation temperature range of ferrous chloride. A removing means 32 is provided in the piping together with the cooling means 31, to remove a ferrous oxide flocculated and adhered to inner surface of the piping by gas cooling by the cooling means 31. The removing means 32 is a hammer to remove flocculation adherent by blow in an axial direction. A pressure control valve 40 is provided downstream of the cooling means 31 and removing means 32 to prevent malfunction of a pressure control valve 40 due to flocculation adhesion. Variation of superficial linear velocity accompanying the change in the raw gas amount to be introduced is prevented by controlling the pressure in the reactor by the pressure control valve 40.
