PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide bristles for a makeup brush, which is more excellent in the inclusion of cosmetic power and in the application capability than conventional synthetic resin bristles, has such characteristics as very excellent touch to the skin and having a performance sufficiently competitive with animal bristle, and a makeup brush using the bristles. SOLUTION: The bristles 1 for the makeup brush are cut bristles made of synthetic resin monofilament. A plurality of waveforms 4 with different wavelengths are formed in the cut bristles in the fiber axial direction, and an acute tapered part 2 is formed at least at one end of each cut bristle.
