A device for twisting wire looped about a bone comprises a longitudinal member sized for insertion through an incision to a target location, the longitudinal member defining a passage extending therethrough to a distal opening sized to receive beside one another end portions of a wire in combination with a cross-member extending across the passage, a clearance within the passage on either side of the cross-member being sized to receive one end portion of a wire to be twisted about the bone and first and second wire mounting units on substantially opposite sides of a longitudinal axis of the passage for coupling to first and second ends, respectively, of a wire be twisted about a bone, the first and second wire mounting units being proximal of the cross-member and coupled to the longitudinal member for movement relative thereto along the axis. |
