A method for manufacturing a solar cell and a solar cell manufactured thereby are provided to enhance performance of the solar cell by reducing a thermal load to be applied to an anti-reflective layer. A second conductive type semiconductor layer is formed on a first conductive type semiconductor substrate. Paste for forming a rear electrode is printed in a predetermined pattern on the semiconductor substrate on which the second conductive type semiconductor layer is not formed. A thermal process is performed to process thermally the paste for forming the rear electrode. An anti-reflective layer is formed on the second conductive type semiconductor layer. Paste for forming a front electrode is printed in a predetermined pattern on the anti-reflective layer. A thermal process is performed to process thermally the paste for forming the front electrode.
