A connector is provided to install a sidewall member in the neighborhood of the center of a receptacle so that a female connector is not inserted into the receptacle deeply by the interference of the sidewall member. A connector(10) includes a housing(11). The housing has a receptacle(12) for inserting an opponent connector. Plural male terminal fittings are protruded forwardly from the rear end surface of the receptacle and include taps(31A,31B,31C) encircled at least partially by the receptacle. At least one movable plate(40) arranges a tap passing through a movable plate. The movable plate is moved between the near position of an opening of the receptacle and the rear of the receptacle. The movable plate includes a main body(41) to be penetrated by the tap. A sidewall member(42) is protruded from the main body and encircles partially at least a partial tap among plural taps. The movable plate is an integrated type assembly or a single type assembly by the main body and the sidewall member.
