The present invention relates to macrolide derivatives of formula (I) in which R1 and R2 have the meanings given in the description; which are endowe d with antiinflammatory activity and are substantially free of antibiotic pr operties, to pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof and to pharmaceutical compositions containing them as active ingredient.
