<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user of an electronic document to easily acquire the update version of the electronic document. <P>SOLUTION: When the second electronic document as the update version of the first electronic document is registered into a document DB 110, a derivation-related registration part 104 registers into a derivation-related DB 120 the derivation-related information indicating derivation of the second electronic document from the first electronic document. A provision-related registration part 106 finds the electronic document corresponding to the ancestor of the second electronic document from the derivation-related DB 120, and when the electronic document of the concerned ancestor is requested, the provision-related registration part 106 registers into the provision-related DB 130 the provision-related information indicating provision of the second electronic document.
