PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter and an air conditioner using it capable of providing rigidity to the filter, and capable of smoothly carrying out movement. SOLUTION: The filter 100 is provided with a filter net 101, and a longitudinal frame 103 supporting side rims of the filter net 101, and protruding parts 107a and recessed parts 107b for meshing with a first gear 301 moving the filter 100 are sequentially formed one after another in a longitudinal direction of the longitudinal frame 103 on one face side of the longitudinal frame 103. Plural protruding lateral ribs 106 extending in a lateral direction are provided on the one face side of the filter net 101, and the lateral ribs 106 are provided in the same positions as the protruding parts 107a in the longitudinal direction. Since meshing can be carried out even if the lateral ribs contact the first gear 301, meshing of the longitudinal frame 103 and the first gear 301 is not obstructed, and movement of the filter can be smoothly carried out.
