PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication device capable of sending an email directly to a destination IP address using a method compliant to RFC2822. SOLUTION: If a mail address is contained in recipient information included in the same telephone book record as an IP address to which mail is sent, a sending/receiving process part 11a of a control part 11 imparts the mail address to the "RCPT TO" of email. If both the name and the mail address of the recipient, or only the name of the recipient is contained in the recipient information included in the same telephone book record as the IP address to which mail is sent, a communication management part 11b creates communication management information using the name of the recipient as the name of the email recipient; if only the mail address is contained in the recipient information, the communication management part creates communication management information using the mail address as the name of the email recipient.
