A cylinder head and an exhaust system for a multi-cylinder engine are provided to allow an engine room to be effectively utilized by protruding a lateral portion of a cylinder head and integrally forming an exhaust passage with the lateral portion. An exhaust system for a multi-cylinder engine comprises a cylinder head(5), at least one exhaust pipe, and a catalytic converter(3). The cylinder head is a multiple type cylinder head having a plurality of exhaust ports(Q1,Q2,Q3,Q4) defining each exhaust port for each cylinder. The cylinder head is provided with at least one protrusion(9), which is protruded from a lateral surface of the cylinder head to form multiple exhaust paths(P1,P2,P3,P4) connected to the exhaust ports. The protrusion includes a water jacket surrounding around the multiple exhaust paths. Outlets of the exhaust paths of the protrusions are connected to the catalytic converter via an exhaust pipe(16). |
