<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently provide multicast and virtual LAN services in an Ethernet passive optical network. <P>SOLUTION: A method of the present invention includes: a setting step for setting the number of bits for a group ID and for a logical link ID in accordance with the numbers of optical subscriber units and groups; an assigning step for assigning the logical link ID having the set number of bits to the optical subscriber unit, dividing the optical subscriber unit into a number of groups and then assigning the group ID having the set number of bits thereto; and a transmitting step for transmitting the frame to the optical subscriber unit through one of unicast, broadcast and multicast systems while referring to a mode value, group ID and logical link ID set to the frame when the frame is inputted. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
