PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a firing machine irradiating even heat to tea leaves to perform equal drying. SOLUTION: This firing machine is such that a trough 2 which carries tea leaves subjected to first drying by heating with a microwave heating mechanism 50 has a groove 2a to which tea leaves are sent, and a planar gas burner 5 which subjects second drying by heating to tea leaves is set on a place opposite to the groove 2a. The width of the groove 2a is brought to about 1-2.5 times of the face width of the burner 5, and a radiant heat is effectively used by the shape of a ceramic plate 5b and a reflecting surface 5e of a burner cover 5c so as to evenly subject tea leaves to second drying by heating.
