PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new constant temperature amplification method detecting inexpensively and simply. SOLUTION: This method for amplifying a nucleic acid is provided by introducing a nicking enzyme-recognizing sequence to the nucleic acid of an analytical subject by using a primer containing the nicking enzyme-recognizing sequence, and amplifying the specific region of the nucleic acid of the analytical subject at a constant temperature by using the primer, the nicking enzyme and a DNA polymerase having a strand-displacing activity.
