A technique of controlling an information device including an interface capable of connecting a television broadcasting receiving section is provided. A controller comprises a control section operating with a first clock signal and a clock generating section for generating a first clock signal at the operating frequency corresponding to the specification from the control section. During the reception of the television broadcasting, the control section allows the clock generating section to generate the first clock signal at an operating frequency different from that when the television broadcasting is not received. With this configuration, the received signal of the television broadcasting can be prevented from being interfered with the first clock.
