A prophylactic treatment for Newcastle disease as well as a treatment of Newcastle disease. The methods comprise the step of administering to a bird, an amount of a composition having a first ingredient obtainable from turmer ic; a second ingredient obtainable from green tea; an third ingredient obtai nable from ginger; and an acceptable carrier. Compositions in accordance wit h the invention may be employed for the purpose of reducing the incidence of contracting Newcastle disease or reducing the transmissivity of Newcastle d isease.
