#CMT# #/CMT# The process for manufacturing glass articles e.g. hollow glassware articles such as drinking glass, comprises supplying a melted glass (12) in an oven (11), flowing the melted glass through an opening (14) of the oven to form a thread (13) of melted glass, dividing the glass thread using scissors (20) to form a patch of the glass, and cooling the scissors by projecting a jet of liquidified gas such as carbon dioxide. The scissors have two animated blades with back and forth movement, where an end of the each blade cuts the glass thread. The projection has a body under each blade with a nozzle around which a hot gas such as air is supplied. The liquidified gas is projected from a part of a tank provided with the projection body through vacuum insulated pipes when the blade is away from the glass thread. Distance between the scissors and the point of emission of liquidified gas is 5 cm. A part of the projection body is cooled by circulating a cold gas. The hot gas and the cold gas are same in nature, and produced by a vortex tube supplying a compressed gas.
