The crashbox (1) has a box-shaped deformation section (4) made of metallic sheet forming folds in case of axial buckling of the section. The section has a sheath (5) composed of fiber e.g. carbon fiber, reinforced plastic composite material and mechanically resting, by co-operation of shapes, on an outer part of the section. The sheath has an end arranged so as to be rolled on a support plate (3) during an impact. A foam body is arranged in the section.
