An apparatus and a method for grinding a flat display panel are provided to grind both of a long side and a short side without rotating the panel at 90 degrees, thereby significantly reducing an area of equipment. A first grinding module(210) grinds both sides of a panel. A horizontal transfer unit(270) horizontally transfers the panel where the both sides are grinded. A second grinding module(220) grinds the rest both sides of the transferred panel. The first and second grinding modules comprise the following parts. A table comprises first and second members(111a,111b,112a,112b) for respectively absorbing the panel so as to grind the both sides of the panel. In the table, a spaced distance between the first and second members is adjusted. A couple of grinding units(230,240) respectively grinds the panel as moving along the both sides of the panel absorbed to the table. |
