A method for preparing a zinc oxide nanosol is provided to produce the homogeneous zinc oxide nanosol having a size of 300 nm or smaller by controlling the coagulation and growth of zinc particles effectively during the step of producing polymers by a water system reaction. A method for preparing a zinc oxide nanosol includes the steps of: mixing a zinc salt with an aqueous solution of polymeric electrolyte having dissociative groups in the polymer chain to form a zinc salt-polymer complex, wherein the dissociative groups are dissolved and dissociated in water; treating the zinc salt-polymer complex with a precipitant selected from urea, hydrogen peroxide, sodium hydroxide, lithium hydroxide, ammonium hydroxide, and potassium hydroxide; and aging the prepared ZnO seeds at 20-100 °C to prepare the ZnO nanosol. Further, a molecular weight of the polymeric electrolyte is 1000 to 30000.
