<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus of an inkjet recording system, in which a carriage with nozzles for ejecting ink has an optical sensor to detect an end of a paper, and which can prevent double printing at the time of feeding the back-sided paper by using the optical sensor that detects the end of the paper. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 100 is an image forming apparatus of an inkjet recording system, in which the carriage 13 with nozzles for ejecting ink has the optical sensor 14 that detects the end of the paper P. The optical sensor 14 has a density detecting means 31 which scans over the paper surface at least one or more times and detects a density on a scan line from an input value of the optical sensor 14 while the scan is executed, and an end image detecting means 32 which detects both the end of the paper P and the presence or absence of an image on the paper surface between both ends on the basis of the detected result by the density detecting means 31. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
