<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a bedsore preventing function of a pad used to protect a patient and to prevent a bedsore by giving an appropriate flexibility and air permeability to the pad and by forming the pad attached to the affected area into a structure which induces displacements in response to movements of the small muscles and patient's skin surfaces. <P>SOLUTION: A sponge mesh mat formed by making cuts in a zigzag fashion or by punching long holes on a sheet-like sponge cushion body is cut in accordance with the affected area to form the pad. By making the sponge body into a mesh, parts of the sponge body that contact the body displace slightly in response to small body movements. Accordingly, a considerable area of the pad surface that contacts the body displaces because of the holes formed on the whole surface of the sponge mesh pad.
